About the Website
The current version of the Missouri Department of Revenue website was posted October, 2004. The website has went through several updates since then, such as improved navigation buttons on top-level pages, customized, area-specific navigation menus on the secondary pages, a Google Search, and RSS feed utilization for the News Releases.
The website is standards-compliant and tableless, using cascading style sheets (CSS) to manage the page presentation. This means the pages are faster to download, and are available to a variety of display devices, such as PDAs, and more accessible to all users.
This design complies with Missouri Digital Media Developers (DMD) Web Guidelines, including accessibility guidelines for Section 508 and Chapter 191 compliant web pages. We hope you enjoy your visit!
Text Size
In the past, the web site used an unadjustable font size. The use of that font size made the site inaccessible to the visually impaired since they could not enlarge the text to a readable size. The new design allows you maximum control over your experience. If the text on your browser looks too large or too small, follow these simple directions.
How to Increase or Decrease Text Size:
- Internet Explorer 6 - Click on View, Text Size
- Internet Explorer 7 - Click on Page, Zoom or Text Size
- Mozilla Firefox 3 - Click on View, Zoom
- Opera 9 - View, Zoom
- AOL Explorer 1.5 - View, Text Size
- Apple Safari - Click on View, Make Text Bigger, Make Text Normal Size, or Make Text Smaller
- Google Chrome - Click on "Control the Current Page" icon, Text Zoom
Note: If you are using a mouse with a scroll wheel, another option for you is to hold down the "Ctrl" key and scroll up or down with the wheel. This method allows for easy adjustment of text size without using any menus (if your browser supports it).
Markup Validation Services
The DOR website is designed to validate to the XHTML 1.0-Strict standard and the Cascading Style Sheet Level 2 (CSS2) specification.
